For example; Samson, Penny and Lexie are all large dogs, however their personalities are very different. Careful consideration and experience goes into choosing the correct receiver for each dog.
Samson , a 2-year-old Siberian Husky considers himself to be the Alpha male of the neighborhood. Because of his thick skin and undercoat and a willful attitude; Samson requires a relatively strong receiver correction level to counter his strong determination to leave the yard. Dog Guard's DG9XT receiver has the strongest correction available on the electronic pet containment market, making it the only receiver choice for Samson.
Lexie is a 2-year-old Hybrid Timber Wolf dog. She has many of the same physical characteristics as Samson, but she is so timid that she seems afraid of having her picture taken! Because she is so easily frightened, we chose the DG5000 on a mild setting. Like all of Dog Guard's receivers, the DG5000 can be adjusted to the exact correction level needed for Lexie's safety.
Penny is a 1-year-old Husky. Although she looks pretty goofy in her pictures, she is actually a very smart and very determined young lady! She seems to be constantly testing the rules of the house. Although she still has some growing to do, it appears as though she will be smaller than the other two.
Based on size alone, the DG5000 might appear to be the appropriate receiver, but that stubborn streak is her most dominant character trait. So, we determined the DG9XT set to a mild/medium setting to be the receiver choice for her. If her stubbornness continues to grow along with her body, we can always readjust the receiver setting.
Just because a dog is small doesn't mean he's a push over! We've all seen little dogs with BIG attitudes. Max is a BIG dog in a little body. He has convinced neighborhood dogs 5 times his size that he is the boss around there. However, Max's owners grew concerned that he might learn a little humility the hard way from one of those much larger dogs. They chose to protect Max with a Deep South Dog Guard "Out Of Sight" electronic pet fence.
Once again, we must take more than size into consideration. The DG5000 is light enough to be comfortable for Max, yet strong enough to keep him in his yard.
Lastly, we have tiny Maggie, a 3-year-old Yorkshire Terrier. Maggie is like a box of chocolates; you never know what you're going to get! Today she may want to spend her time sitting on her owner's lap or following he r every move. Tomorrow you won't be able to convince her to come inside and stop barking at the neighbor's cat! The Dog Guard "Out Of Sight" electronic pet fence Micro Receiver ensures the safety of Maggie and the neighborhood cats. Dog Guard's Micro Receiver is the perfect fit for the 4 pound Maggie.
